Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik today appealed to people to elect good candidates and not criminals in the elections and bless BJD’s MP and MLA candidates by casting their vote for the ‘sankha chinha’ (conch symbol).
Patnaik made the appeal while addressing mammoth election rallies in Gopalpur, Aska and Phulbani assembly constituencies under the three Lok Sabha constituencies of Berhampur, Aska and Kandhamal.
Amid the noise of the election campaign, the Chief Minister’s simple style of campaigning touched the hearts of the people.
The meeting venues reverberated with the sound of yes to every question asked by the Chief Minister. The gatherings gave their overwhelming consent for the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), Mission Shakti, LAccMI bus KALIA yojana, Nua O Scholarships, etc.
The Chief Minister accused the opposition of lying and shedding crocodile tears.
Apart from senior BJD leader Kartik Pandian, Berhampur Lok Sabha candidate Bhrugu Baxipatra, Aska Lok Sabha candidate Ranjita Sahoo and Kandhamal Lok Sabha candidate Achyut Samanta, candidates of all Assembly constituencies addressed the meetings and appealed to the people to vote ‘Jodi Sankha’ and strengthen Naveen Patnaik’s hands.
