Two Polling Officials Injured After Bus Carrying Them Overturns In Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: A bus carrying polling officials overturned at Pitatali under Chikiti block in Ganjm district on Saturday.

The accident left two officials injured.

As they sustained minor injuries, they were given primary treatment in the nearest health centre.

Other officials were rescued unhurt. The bus was also carrying EVMs along with polling personnel. The mishap, however, caused no damage to the EVMs.

The first phase elections will be held on May 13 in Odisha for which the campaigning ended today.

The incident happened when the polling party was on its way to election duty. Polling will be held for 28 assembly seats under Berhampur, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi Lok Sabha seats.
