Bhubaneswar: The Angul Police arrested a group of five dacoits planning to commit robbery on Monday late at night.
As per the source, the police patrolling in the area received information about the gang of armed robbers assembled on the market ground planning for an armed robbery.
The police took immediate cognizance of the matter by arresting the gang and seizing the weapons which included; 5 country bombs, a dagger, an iron rod and a knife.
The gang was planning to loot a goods truck carrying loads of iron roads when police busted and foiled their advancements.
The dacoits identified as; Tipun Behera and Babulu Behera are residents of Nuahata Village in Angul, Abhaya Kumar Sahu is from Kandala, Debagarh. Whereas; Chandan Sahu is from Dhenkanal, and Balaram Behera is from Rambha, Ganjam district.
All the accused were arrested and have been court-forwarded.
