Bhubaneswar: Two government employees engaged in election duty in Odisha on Monday died in separate road accidents after completing their duties in Nuapada and Malkangiri districts.
In the first accident, Prasanna Kumar Nayak died in a road accident near Tarbod police outpost in Nuapada district while returning home after completing his election duty on Tuesday night. Nayak was the presiding officer in a polling booth at Ranimund. His motorbike was reportedly hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle.
In another incident, Indrajit Kirsani, a teacher in Khairput Mudulipada, died in an accident in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. In this instance, a bus collided with Indrajit’s motorcycle late last night while he was returning after election-related work.
Both the victims died on the spot.
