Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, the Southwest Monsoon advanced into some parts of Maldives and the Comorin area and some parts of the South Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands, and South Andaman Sea. A low-pressure area will likely form over the southwest Bay of Bengal around Wednesday. It will likely move northeastwards and concentrate into a depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal around Friday.
Meanwhile, the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued yellow alerts for rain and thundershowers in several Odisha districts for the next five days. At the same time hot and humid weather conditions will prevail in many districts, it added.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Angul, Jajpur, and Bhadrak, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Rayagada.
Hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
