Elephant Dies Of Electrocution In Odisha’s Angul

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, an elephant was found dead in Kantamegha village, coming under the Bantala forest range of Angul, on Monday.

The corpse of the wild tusker was recovered from the backyard of one Antar Sahoo of the Kantamegha village of Talagada Panchayat of the Bantala region.

As per the sources, the trunk of the deceased elephant was girded with electric fencing wire while trying to savour on a banana plantation located in Antar’s backyard.

The Forest Department officials have started an investigation of the matter.

On April 15, another tusker was electrocuted to death in the Badahinso village of Bantala, Angul. Two persons were arrested in the case.
