Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, four members of a family perished when the bike on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a dumper near Pingua’s Tolarpasi village under Nihalprasad police limits in Dhenkanal district on Monday.

The deceased include a man, his wife and their two kids – a son and a daughter.

According to reports, while the man and his wife died on the spot, the kids were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Barpada. However, the doctors at the CHC declared them dead.

Though the identities of the deceased have not been established, they are said to hail from nearby Khankira village.

While the driver of the dumper has fled the spot, police have seized the accident-causing vehicle.
