Over Rs 40K Fine Collected From Offenders In Bhubaneswar UPD In Single Day

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday collected fine amounting to Rs 40,600 from from 78 persons in Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD) over charges of drinking in public places and drunken driving under provisions of the Odisha Urban Police Act.

According to a press release issued by the Media Cell of Bhubaneswar DCP, as many as seven persons have been detained during raids against drinking in public places and night blocking of vehicles on Tuesday night.   One vehicle has been also detained.

The police conducted raids at different places under various police stations of Bhubaneswar UPD.

The Commissionerate Police has intensified checking and night blocking in view of the upcoming polls.

Bhubaneswar will go to the polls on Saturday.
