Bhubaneswar: BJP’s MP candidate from Bhubaneswar Aparajita Sarangi demanded deployment of CAPF in some polling booths in her constituency suspecting booth rigging during the election scheduled tomorrow.
Writing to Khurda Collector and Returning Officer, she stated that BJD has engaged two retired police officers in some booths in Bhubaneswar and Khurda Municipality area to ensure rigging.
These two former police officers are former Additional SP Nagendra Mund and Shantanu Das, she mentioned in her letter.
“I have received information from trusted sources about the engagement of two retired police officers, namely Mr Nagendra Mund and Mr Shantanu Das, who retired as Addl SPs by Biju Janata Dal. My sources have revealed that they have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring rigging in the following location.
- ward No 46 of Bhubaneswar Central-Bayababa Matha area & Saheed Nagar
- Unit–8–Mali Sahi
- Khordha Municipality area”, Sarangi stated in her letter.
The BJP candidate, who is also the sitting Bhubaneswar MP, requested the election officer to deploy paramilitary forces like CAPF in these booths for a free and fair election.
