Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani has urged people to vote for the BJP candidates for the all-round development of the State.

She addressed three public gatherings at Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Balasore Parliamentary constituencies of the state on Saturday.

Addressing the first rally in Kujang under Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, Irani said that a chief minister of the soil will be appointed if BJP is voted to power.

The union minister criticised the State government over the multi-crore chit fund scam and mining scam. She said that the ruling party has allotted tickets to those who are involved in such scam.

Irani said all the riling party leaders are remote controlled and fostered land, coal, sand, and mining mafias in the state

In contrast, she highlighted Narendra Modi’s commitment to building a developed India by 2047. “To witness a deluge of development, vote for the lotus on June 1 and establish a double-engine government in the state,” she urged.

Raising the Ratna Bhandar key issues, the minister said that commission report on Ratna Bhandar is yet to be submitted. If the BJP is elected in the State, the report will be made public and find out the keys of Lord Jagannath’s treasury.

Hitting out at Congress party, Irani said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi clandestinely supported the BJD and contrasted the mining revenue of Odisha during the UPA regime.

“During the UPA regime, Odisha was getting only Rs 5,000 crore mining revenue a year, which shot up to over Rs 50,000 crore after Narendra Modi came to power,” she added.

Highlighting Modi’s initiatives such as free rations, drinking water, pucca housing, and financial aid to farmers, the BJP heavyweight appealed to the people to vote for BJP candidates.

She said that the Central government has been providing various benefits to the people here under different welfare schemes but the Odisha government in Odisha is hijacking all the schemes.
