Bhubaneswar: The Severe Cyclonic Storm “Remal” (pronounced as “Re-Mal”) over the North Bay of Bengal moved nearly northwards, with a speed of 13 kmph and lay centered over the same region near latitude 20.6°N and longitude 89.2°E about 160 km southeast of Sagar Islands (West Bengal), 180 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), 190 km south-southeast of Canning (West Bengal) and 220 km south of
Mongla (Bangladesh). Currently, the maximum sustained wind speed of 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph prevails around the cyclone center.
It is very likely to continue to move nearly northwards, intensify further and cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island and Khepupara, close to southwest of Mongla (Bangladesh) by Sunday midnight as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 110-120 kmph gusting to 135 kmph.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at most places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, and a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Yellow warning (Be updated): Heavy to very rainfall (7 to 20cm) is likely at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak and heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) at isolated places in Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada.

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Bhadrak and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
