Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday expressed concern over the untimely cyclone that badly hit Assam.

During the time of election, Patnaik stood by the people of Assam struggling against the natural calamity.

Patnaik was anguished over the loss of lives in the north-eastern State due to the cyclone ‘Remal’over Bay of Bengal. He also offered all possible help for the calamity-hit State to restore normalcy.

“Concerned to know about the situation in #Assam affected by #CycloneRemal. Deeply anguished over the loss of life and damage to the property. #Odisha stands with Assam in this hour of need and offers all possible assistance to bring back normalcy,” Patnaik stated on ‘X’.

The CM’s concern for Assam came at a time when the Chief Minister of the north-east State Himant Biswa Sarma is busy campaigning in Odisha during the time of the deluge.

Naveen’s offer of assistance for Assam showed his benevolence and statesmanship.

Notably, cyclone-induced rain inundated several places in Assam, causing a flood-like situation in the State. Heavy rainfall in the state resulted in artificial flooding, disrupting normal life in the aftermath of cyclone ‘Remal’.
