Rourkela: In view of the severe heatwave conditions prevailing in the city, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) has taken several measures to create awareness among the citizens to prevent heatstroke.
The RMC’s garbage collection vehicles are crisscrossing the city’s lanes and bylanes are sensitizing people through miking on the precautions to avoid heatstroke. Drinking water kiosks have been opened at 14 prominent places in the city.
Further, the Corporation has distributed ORS packets to street vendors at the railway station, bus stand, Daily Market, Chhend, Kalinga Vihar, Panposh, Bondamunda, Fertilizer township, Deogaon, Koelnagar, Basanti Colony, etc apart from sensitizing them on the precautions to be taken to avoid heatstroke
