Bhubaneswar: A youth who has gone missing since yesterday evening was found dead near Sijumundia hillock in Gopiballavpur village under Athagarh police limits, on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Niranjan Rout, a resident of Jagipadia village under the police limits.
As per reports, locals found Rout dead in the early Monday morning and informed the police. Athagarh police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Upon being informed by the police, Rout’s family members came for the verification of the body. They identified Rout’s body and filed a complaint alleging foul play behind Rout’s death.
According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s family members, Rout had gone missing since Sunday evening. He had left home without informing anybody. They launched a frantic search for Rout as he failed to reach home. They, however, failed to trace him.
