Light To Moderate Rainfall Forecast For Odisha Districts Amid Heatwave Warning

Bhubaneswar: Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea; most parts of Karnataka; some more parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, and coastal Andhra Pradesh; most parts of West-central Bay of Bengal and some more parts of northwest Bay of Bengal. The conditions are favourable for early onset of Monsoon in south Odisha.

Weather Forecast For Odisha Districts During The Next 7 Days.

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Bargarh, Bolangir, and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Bolangir, Boudh, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Heavy rainfall is likely in one or two places in Koraput and Malkangiri. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha, north coastal Odisha and one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and dry is weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface

windspeed reaching 30-40  kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Koraput.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south Odisha, north coastal Odisha, and one or two places in north interior Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Bargarh, Bolangi, and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Deogarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha, and north coastal Odisha, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of north interior Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Boudh, Bolangir, Sonepur, and Nuapada. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Deogarh and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Bargarh, Bolangir, and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, and Deogarh. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
