Two Drunk Men Arrested By RPF For Pelting Stones At Moving Train In Khurdha

Bhubaneswar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested two persons for allegedly pelting stones at Kamakhya-Bengaluru Express near Nirakarpur station in Khurdha district.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening.

On receiving reports of stone pelting at the train, the RPF, Khurda Road launched an investigation and got confirmed that the incident took place between Golabai and Nirakarpur Railway Stations in the Balugaon-Khurda Road Railway Section of the Howrah-Chennai mainline under East Coast Railway.

A team from the RPF, proceeded to the spot and detained two persons, identified as Ramesh Majhi (38) from Golabai village and Sadasib Pradhan (33) from Nakula Patna village under Jankia Police Station in Khurda District.

Both were found in an inebriated condition near the railway track. During interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime.

The RPF registered a case against them u/s 153, 147, and 145(b) of the Railway Act and forwarded them to court.
