Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday today appreciated the hard work of BJP workers in Odisha for securing a landslide victory in the State to form the government for the first time.
Addressing the meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Modi said that Odisha will be the growth engine of India’s Vikash Yatra’ with the blessing of Lord Jagannath.
“I believe that Lord Jagannath is the God of the poor. Odisha witnessed revolutionary election results. I am confident that Odisha will be one of the growth engines of the ‘Vikas Yatra’ of the country in the next 25 years,” Modi said in his address in the Central Hall of the Samvidhan Sadan (Old Parliament).
The Prime Minister was re-elected as the leader of the NDA, getting an opportunity to become the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term.
The BJP secured a thumping victory by capturing 20 Lok Sabha seats out of 21 and 78 assembly seats out of 147.
