Bhubaneswar: A delegation of the Odisha BJP leaders led by state unit president Manmohan Samal on Tuesday visited Naveen Niwas to invite the outgoing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP government in the state on Wednesday.
Aside from Samal, the BJP delegation included Suresh Pujari, Basanta Panda, Samir Mohanty, and Nityananda Gond. They drove to Naveen Niwas to invite Naveen on Wednesday afternoon. Later, Samal told the media that Naveen had accepted the invite and would attend the ceremony.
Preparations are in the final stage at the Janata Maidan – the venue for the oath-taking ceremony. Security has been beefed up in the area as well as the entire Bhubaneswar. The mega event will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Central ministers, and Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled states.
