Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Ahtgarh MLA, was sworn in as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Odisha Assembly. Governor Raghubar Das administered the oath to the eight-time MLA at a simple function at the Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, members of his Council of Ministers, and other legislators were present at the swearing-in ceremony today.
Soon after the swearing-in ceremony, the Pro-Tem Speaker told the media that the other legislators of the House would take oath on June 18 and 19 and the Speaker will be elected on June 20.
