Farmer Killed In Lightning Strikes In Koraput

Bhubaneswar: Lightning strikes claimed the life of a farmer at Salapguda village under Narayanpatna police limits in Koraput district on Monday.

Besides, three others sustained injuries after being struck by lightning.

The deceased has been identified as Shiva Mandi.

As per reports, Mandi and some other farmers were busy working at their agricultural lands when lightning struck. Farmers including Mandi went to a nearby hut to take save themselves from lightning and rain.  However, Mandi lost his life due to lightning strikes while taking shelter under the hut. The incident took place at 10 am.

The mishap has left three persons injured. All the injured were from a family. They have been undergoing treatment at Narayanpatna Hospital.
