Bhubaneswar: An assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) and a Revenue Inspector (RI) of Khandahata RI Circle under Biramaharajpur Tahasil in Subarnapur were apprehended by vigilance for accepting bribe from persons.
ARI Panchanan Dang and RI Rajendra Kumar Mishra were caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person to forward the enquiry report in the Revision Petition Case filed by him for issuance of ROR.
The vigilance team nabbed ARI Dang while he was accepting the illegal gratification as per direction of Mishra in latter’s presence in the RI office. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Dang and seized, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of both the accused persons, ARI Dang and RI Mishra from DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress against accused officials.
