Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar today informed that the southwest monsoon further advanced into more parts of Odisha, covering 24 districts.
The districts which will get rainfall under the influence of the monsoon are Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Cuttack, Jgatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Deogarh.
The monsoon also advanced to more parts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Balasore and some parts of Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj districts, the Met department said through a release.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passed Naysari, Jalgaon, Mandla, Pendra Road, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj and Raxaul.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, remaining parts of Maharashtra, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, the release added.
