Bhubaneswar: Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Monday reviewed the progress of the Bhubaneswar District Court building and directed the contractual agency to speed up its construction work.
According to sources, Harichandan visited the construction site of the Bhubaneswar District Court’s new building and oversaw its construction work. He took stock of the construction work from the senior officials.
According to sources, this under-construction building is going to be considered the best district court in the country. Built with the latest engineering technology, this building will have four corridors and 57 courtrooms, record rooms, library, conference rooms and other facilities. The entire 5-storey building, including the basement, will be air-conditioned.
Besides, the basement will have parking facilities for 50 four-wheelers for judges. Also, the construction of a large parking lot is underway. The parking lot will have facilities for parking 450 four-wheelers and 550 two-wheelers.
Water fountains and lawns will be erected in front of the building as part of its beautification drive. The state government aims to complete the construction of the court building by July end. It will be inaugurated in the first week of August, informed Harichandan to the mediapersons.
On this occasion, Harichandan met the lawyers and inquired about the problems they were confronting. He also promised to solve all their problems soon.
