Cuttack: The District and Sessions Court today awarded a man to life imprisonment for murdering his father in CDA area of the city in 2018.
The court also directed Santosh Sahoo to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. In default of payment of fine, he would undergo one year more imprisonment.
Sahoo was convicted of the murder of his father which took place in CDA Sector 7 in August 2018.
Sahoo killed his father by pouring petrol on him and setting him afire.
Markatnagar police station had registered a case against him and charge-sheeted him.
The court has pronounced the verdict on the basis of 24 documents and 28 witnesses, additional Public Prosecutor Viswajit Barala informed.
