Bargarh: The famous chariot festival of Lord Dadhibamana was held with great grandeur at Bhatli, Bargarh district on Sunday.
As per reports, at 3:30 pm, the idol of Lord Dadhibamana was brought out of the temple by the servitors in a grand procession after the completion of rituals.
After Lord Dadhibamana was seated on the chariot, ‘Chhera Pahanra’ and other rituals were performed as per the traditions. Followed by the rituals, the divine chariot was pulled by enthusiastic devotees in the Rathadhanda padia.
This year, thousands of enthusiastic devotees assembled at Bhatli to pull the chariot of Lord Dadhibamana and seek blessings.
The procession was carried out under strict security arrangements, under the supervision of Prahlad Sahai Meena, SP, Bargarh.
Sub-Collector Kumar Nagabhusan and MLA Bhatli, Irasis Acharya, graced the occasion by pulling the chariot.
Bhatli is also known as the ‘Srikhetra’ of Western Odisha, making it famous among, the people of neighbouring districts of Bargarh.
People from Sambalpur, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, and other nearby districts, along with devotees from neighbouring Chattishgarh state, come to Bhatli to experience the majestic rath yatra every year.
