Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, has conveyed his heartfelt regards to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi through his social media post on Sunday.
On his X handle, Pradhan wrote: “Mahaprabhu Jagannath is the biggest symbol of Odia identity and self-respect, Sanatan culture, and Hindu faith. By opening the Ratna Bhandar of Mahaprabhu Jagannath after 46 years, the newly elected government of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has fulfilled another promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Odisha.”
Adding further, he wrote: “The security of Mahaprabhu’s Ratna Bhandar and transparent information about the jewellery kept in the Ratna Bhandar was a long-pending demand of the public for decades. I heartily congratulate the Sri Mandir administration and the double engine government of Odisha for opening the Ratna Bhandar with complete transparency while respecting the identity and Hindu faith of 4.5 crore Odia people.”
On Sunday, the ‘Ratna Bhandar’ was opened in the presence of former Orissa High Court judge Biswanath Rath, Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), DB Gadanayak, superintendent of the ASI, and a representative of the titular king, Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, Maharaja of Puri.
