Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a man was killed in a head-on collision with a truck near De Paul school, under the jurisdiction of Kotinada police station in Ganjam district, on Monday.
According to reports, the deceased man was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
After falling off the motorcycle, he was run over by the truck, which killed him instantly.
On being informed about the incident, police officials promptly arrived at the accident site, where they seized the truck involved in the collision and took the driver into custody.
The accident is believed to have been caused due to a sudden tyre puncture, which led the driver to lose control of the vehicle and collide with the motorcyclist.
The police have sent the deceased man’s body for autopsy and initiated an investigation into the matter.
