Cuttack: In a bid to reduce plastic waste and promote eco-friendliness, the administration and servitors’ association of Dhabaleswar Temple in Cuttack have imposed a ban on plastic materials, including plastic pots, inside the temple premises.
As holy month Srabana is approaching the Bol Bom devotees visiting the temple will no longer be allowed to carry plastic pots or Bahungi (Sling) inside the temple.
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Athagarh Tehsildar, with representatives from the Pujak Samiti, police administration, and various departments in attendance.
The water offering is allowed only on specific days – July 22, July 29, August 5, August 12, and August 19. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the event, including security measures and awareness drives to dissuade devotees from using plastic.
This eco-friendly initiative aims to reduce waste and promote sustainability
