Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today said that eligible families who applied for new ration cards in Odisha can expect to receive them within a month.
While responding to Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati in Odisha Assembly, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra that the state government has initiated the process, with a total of 6,19,836 families applying for ration cards so far.
To ensure transparency, e-KYC audits will be conducted to verify the information provided by beneficiaries.
Following the completion of e-KYC audits, ration cards will be issued to new beneficiaries. Minister Patra stated, “We are utilizing e-KYC audits to identify eligible beneficiaries. Our officers are also conducting door-to-door surveys, which are expected to be completed soon.”
The government has established 12 guidelines for including eligible beneficiaries and 10 guidelines for excluding ineligible ones. Officials have been instructed to remove ineligible beneficiaries from the list, ensuring that only deserving families receive the benefits.
This move aims to streamline the ration card distribution process and prevent fraudulent activities. With the government’s efforts, eligible families in Odisha can look forward to receiving their new ration cards within the stipulated timeframe.
