Nuapada: A group of school students had a narrow escape from getting injured in an accident after a van carrying them to school overturned near the Khariar bypass road in Nuapada district today.
According to reports, a school van carrying 22 students studying in a private school in Nuapada, went off the road and overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The mishap happened on the road connecting Khariar Women’s College and the Gandhi Nagar area when the overloaded van went out of control due to a sudden fall in tyre pressure.
After learning about the incident, locals quickly informed fire department officials and rescued the students stuck inside the van.
Fortunately, all 22 students were safe and were sent to school in another vehicle arranged by the locals.
