Jajpur: Keonjhar police arrested a youth from Jajpur on charges of giving death threats to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and using abusive language for the CM on a social media platform, informed Keonjhar Superintendent of Police Kusalkar Nitin Dagudu.
“The accused has been arrested and is currently under investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, we cannot disclose his identity at this stage,” said Dagudu.
According to sources, the accused had posted threatening messages and used derogatory language for the CM, amounting to criminal offences.
The accused using the Instagram id @mr.bewafa1 has been giving life threats to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and making obscene comments to the CM. He has also been accused of making casteist remarks. The matter came to the fore after the Keonjhar BJP Yuva Morcha submitted a memorandum to the SP on Sunday demanding action against the youth, revealed the sources.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested the youth involved in the incident and initiated a thorough probe into the matter to uncover further details.
