Baripada: Forest department officials in Kaptipada Range under Baripada Forest Division have seized five elephant tusks and detained seven persons in this connection on Wednesday.
The seven accused persons have been identified as Nouru Sing (70), Niranjan Behera (46), Samal Sing (35), Birabhadra Sing (42), Ajay Barik (44), Sunil Kumar Ho (29), and Nityananda Gagrai (27).
While four of the accused persons hail from Mayurbhanj district, the remaining three are from Balasore district.
