Bhubaneswar: After a long three months, the Bhitarkanika National Park will open for tourists from today. The park was closed due to the breeding season of the rare saltwater crocodile.
According to sources, the national park was shut down from May 1 to July 31 to facilitate the breeding of crocodiles. With the breeding season coming to an end, the park is all set for reopening today, much to the excitement of nature lovers.
To give tourists a thrilling experience, the forest department has built a 15-foot-high skywalk at Dangamal this year. The 600-meter-long skywalk will allow tourists to enjoy the natural surroundings and spot various birds, deer, and reptiles while walking on it.
The 600-meter-long walkway, made of wood, starts from the Mangrove Metta Nursery and offers a unique opportunity for tourists to immerse themselves in nature.
Keeping the safety of passengers in mind, only 20 tourists will be allowed on the walkway at a time.
