Bhubaneswar: As India gears up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, the Odisha government on Friday urged the citizens of Odisha to play the Har Ghar Tiranga anthem in public events scheduled to be held between August 9 and August 15.
“The state government has appealed to play the #HarGharTiranga anthem in various public events scheduled from August 9th to 15th, as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign”, read the tweet of the I&PR Department.
As per reports, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, to be conducted nationwide from August 9 to 15, aims to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag on their homes as a symbol of independence. The Odisha government has urged people across the state to participate enthusiastically in this campaign.
It is pertinent to note that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The campaign aimed to instil nationalism and patriotism, involving cleanliness drives, memorial ceremonies, and social media promotion.
