Puri: A woman was killed and seven others sustained injuries in a lightning strike in Odisha’s Puri on Monday morning.
According to reports, Kunti Bhoi (45) died while undergoing treatment at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), while seven others were admitted to the hospital. Lightning struck the eight villagers at Chaitana Bhoi Sahi area in Puri district this morning when they were engaged in agricultural work.
Villagers rushed the injured to the Puri DHH where Kunti breathed her last during treatment.
The holy town has been experiencing very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning since early Monday morning.
