Cuttack: Two women patients were allegedly sexually assaulted by a doctor at the Department of Cardiology in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The relatives of the patients lodged a complaint at Mangalabag police station, and a case has been registered with an investigation launched accordingly.
“We received a complaint against a doctor on August 11, and based on that, we have registered a case and launched an investigation. Action will be taken as per the evidence collected during the course of the investigation,” informed Anil Mishra, Additional DCP.
“As the case is sensitive, we don’t want to disclose further details. We will record the statement of the victims and investigate accordingly,” he added.
Meanwhile, the kin of the patients allegedly assaulted the doctor, who sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in the ICU of the same hospital. However, no complaint has been filed in this connection.
