Bhubaneswar: In a heart-wrenching yet inspiring incident, a 25-year-old youth from Puruna Sahar area in Nayagarh district has left behind a lasting legacy of kindness and generosity by donating organs following his death.
As per reports, Sibun Sahu had gone to his aunt’s house at Gania on Saturday. He was sleeping on the roof of the house. He accidentally fell from the second floor of his aunt’s house when he woke up in the wee hours of the next day to attend nature’s call.
After a tragic fall from the second floor of his aunt’s house, Sibun was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was declared brain dead after battling with life for four days. However, his family’s courageous decision to donate his organs has given new lease of life to others.
Sibun’s father was initially not agreed to donate the organs of his son. After being counseled by the volunteers of a non-profit organization and relatives, Sibum’s father Papi Sahu agreed to donate his organs.
As per report, Sibun’s liver and kidney were successfully transplanted to a patient in dire need at a Bhubaneswar-based private hospital, giving a new life to a youth.
As news of his selfless act spread, many gathered to pay their respects to Sibun after his body reached his village.
He was given guard of honour at the cremation ground, and his last rites were performed with dignity and respect.
His family’s bravery in the face of tragedy has sparked a wave of kindness, inspiring others to consider the gift of organ donation.
