Jharsuguda: A poultry firm owner was shot dead in the Beherapat area under Jharsuguda Sadar police limits on Monday evening over alleged business enmity.
While the deceased has been identified as Shahjahan Khan (26), the police are yet to recover his body, which is suspected to have been dumped in a forest area along the Jharsuguda-Sambalpur border.
According to reports, the accused Imran and his partner came to Shahjahan’s chicken farm and following a dispute Imran allegedly shot Shahjahan and threw the body in a river.
Jharsuguda SP Parmar Smit Parshottamdas told the media on Tuesday that the poultry firm owner was shot dead at Mangalbazar over business rivalry. “We have identified the accused and his associates and a police team along with forensic experts is investing the crime. We hope to complete the investigation soon and arrest both the accused,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police have detained two persons in connection with the crime.
