Low Pressure Likely Over Bay Of Bengal On Aug 29; Heavy Rain In The Offing

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over East Central & adjoining North Bay of Bengal on August 29.

In view of the formation of the system, Odisha is very likely to experience an active wet spell from August 28 to 31, IMD stated through a bulletin.

It is likely to move west-northwestwards close to south Odisha & north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the subsequent two days.

The weather agency predicted heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) at isolated places in

Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Angul, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur till Wednesday 8.30 AM.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam on August 28. Thunderstorm with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh . A yellow warning has been issued for these districts.

On August 29, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is expected at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.
