Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) of Mallikapur under Balikuda tahasil in Jagatsinghpur district Bibhudatta Sahu, while he was demanding and taking a bribe of Rs 5000 from a person (complainant) to submit enquiry report in his favour in two mutation cases for issuance of ROR (Land Patta).
As per an official press release, the entire bribe amount has been recovered from possession of Sahu and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations of Sahu from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
While further investigation against Sahu is in progress, the Vigilance has registered a case against him at Cuttack Vigilance police station under section 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
