Police ASI Caught Taking Bribe In Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Saturday apprehended Rama Chandra Soren,  Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Police, serving at Baripada Town police station in Mayurbhanj district while he was demanding and accepting bribe of  Rs 6,000 from a person (Complainant) to help him in a case registered earlier against him.

According to an official press release the entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Soren and seized.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Soren from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

Odisha Vigilance has registered a case against accused Soren at Balasore Vigilance police station under section 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Soren.
