Bhubaneswar: The State Government today revealed that Odisha’s per capita income has increased significantly from Rs 20,540 in 2004 to Rs 1,61,437 in FY 2023-24, a rise of Rs 1,40,897.
To further boost per capita income, the state government is focusing on sectors like agriculture, industries, services, tourism, and infrastructure and others, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi told the State Assembly while replying to BJD MLA Ramesh Chandra Nayak.
Moreover, the government implemented various development schemes, including the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) for self-help groups, PM-AJAY for Scheduled Castes, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Guarantee Employment Act for rural employment, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) for rural youth, ORMAS for skill development and employment opportunities, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector promotion, CM-KISAN interest subvention for agriculture, Chief Minister’s Senior Weavers and Artisans Support Scheme etc.
These initiatives aim to eradicate poverty and create employment opportunities in the State.
