Cuttack: The body of a female lecturer of National Law University, Odisha, (NLUO) was recovered from her rented accommodation in CDA Sector – 9 in Cuttack on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Ananya Chakraborty, a native of West Bengal, and she has been working at the NLUO for nearly two years.
According to reports, Ananya’s body was recovered from her rented house at CDA Sector-9. Her room was locked from inside and the police had to break the lock to enter the room and recover her body.
Ananya was not going to the university and when she did not respond to the repeated calls, the NLUO officials alerted police. On being informed, police reached her rented house and broke the door open.
Police have sent the body to SCB Cuttack for autopsy and informed the deceased’s family about her death.
However, the cause of death of the lecturer is not known. It is not clear whether the professor was killed or committed suicide. Police are investigating the incident.
