Cuttack: A group clash between two groups during immersion of Ganesh idol left one dead and three injured at Dhurusia village under Khuntuni police station in Cuttack district, Tuesday night.
As per the report, the condition of the injured youths is stated to be critical and they have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Sources said a clash broke out between two groups of people from Gopal Sahi and Dhurusia villages during the immersion of Ganesh idols last night. The altercation turned violent, with both groups attacking each other with swords and sticks. The clash became so violent that one minor boy was killed and three were injured due to the clash.
Upon being informed, police rushed to the spot and detained two persons in this connection.
As tension still prevails in the village, police forces have been deployed to prevent any further unrest.
