Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today arrested Rambhav Gattu, Chief Manufacturing Officer (East) of Ambuja Cement, Chhatisgarh, for attempting to bribe Aditya Goyal, Collector of Bargarh.
Gattu visited the Collector’s office on Wednesday and offered a flower bouquet and a sweet packet. Suspecting foul play, the Collector directed his peon to open the packet, revealing four bundles of 500-rupee notes totalling Rs 2 lakhs.
The Vigilance team seized the cash and registered a case under Section 8/9/10 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended by the PC Amendment Act, 2018. Gattu has been arrested and is being produced in court.
