Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has designated Janata Maidan, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the ‘Subhadra Yojana’ on September 17, as a ‘No Drone Zone/No Flying Zone’.
According to a release from the District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO), Khordha, the decision was made for security reasons ahead of the Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Bhubaneswar. He will inaugurate the flagship government programme ‘Subhadra Yojana’ at Janata Maidan on September 17.
The visit coincides with PM Modi’s birthday, during which he will launch the scheme, a key promise made by the BJP in its election manifesto. The Subhadra Yojana aims to provide financial aid to women aged 21 to 60. Beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 50,000 in 10 equal installments over five years, with each Rs 5,000 installment being disbursed on Raksha Bandhan Day and International Women’s Day.
On the day of the launch, the Prime Minister will distribute the first installment to the beneficiaries. Approximately 70,000 women are expected to attend the event. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida stated that all women who submitted their applications before the September 15 deadline will receive their first installment after the scheme’s inauguration on September 17.
