Jagatsinghpur: The bodies of two youths of Jagatsinghpur district, who went missing while returning from Cuttack by motorcycle on Saturday night, were found on the Jagatsinghpur-Tarpur roadside on Sunday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Phillip Sahu, son of Krishnachandra Sahu, and Abhijit Singh, son of Akshay Singh, of Gopalpur village in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district. Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that they were victims of a hit-and-run accident.
According to reports, Phillip and Abhijeet were returning home from Cuttack by motorbike on Saturday night. However, they did not reach home till Sunday evening. Family members of both the youths searched for them at every possible place, but could not trace them.
Their bodies were found on the Jagatsinghpur-Tarpur roadside, about 5 km from Gopalpur village during a search this evening. The motorbike was also found there.
The police recovered two bodies and sent them to the Raghunathpur Community Health Centre (CHC) for autopsy and launched an investigation into the incident.
