Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Wednesday warned teachers and school bus drivers against consuming alcohol during duty hours, stating that the department will take stern action against those found guilty.
“Teachers must remain free from alcoholism. If they succumb to it, it will have a devastating impact on students, and the educational community,” the Minister emphasized.
“The department will act tough against such teachers and take stringent action if such cases come to light, maintained Gond highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy and professional environment in educational institutions.
Gond also stressed the safety of school students travelling in school buses, issuing a stern warning to tipsy school bus drivers.
“If a school bus driver is caught driving under the influence of alcohol, they will face severe consequences,” stated Gond adding that “The risk of accidents significantly increases when school bus drivers are intoxicated, posing a serious threat to the well-being of students.”
