Young Woman Goes Missing After Jumping Into Kharasrota River

Bhubaneswar: A young woman went missing after jumping into the Kharasrota River from the Rajghat bridge in the Jajpur district, on Thursday.

The missing young woman has been identified as Mandakini Samal, a resident of Sribantapur.  The incident occurred under the Sadar police station limits, and an inquiry is underway to determine the reason behind Mandakini’s motive.

According to eyewitnesses, Mandakini kept her scooter, shoes, and mobile phone off the bridge before jumping into the river.

On a tip-off, firefighters and police personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.

The police have recovered the young woman’s belongings, including her scooter and phone.
