Bhubaneswar: The former Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Bolangir was convicted of accepting a bribe and sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment.
The Odisha Vigilance Department charged Jasinta Tirkey with demanding Rs 70,000 from a self-help group secretary to facilitate Chhatua supply and bill payment.
The Special Vigilance Court in Bolangir delivered the verdict under the PC Act, 1988. Tirkey was immediately taken into jail custody to serve her sentence.
As a result of her conviction, Odisha Vigilance will move to relevant authorities to terminate Tirkey’s pension benefits.
